Welcome to the official web site of CiderFest NC - North Carolina’s premier hard cider tasting event. CiderFest NC began in 2013 as a fall fundraiser with locally produced apples, cheeses, hard cider and plans to serve only about 60 people. We exceeded those expectations by a wide margin by selling out that first year at 400 attendees! Almost overnight we became recognized as the very first hard cider tasting festival in North Carolina. CiderFest NC is back for its 3rd year and will feature over twenty hard cider makers from all over the region, as well as special guest from out of state, and imported Spanish ciders, local mead makers, food pairings, local arts & crafts, live music, and an interactive children’s area!
This year’s event is packed with new opportunities to taste and experience Cider. Twenty plus Cider makers will be serving up their tasty varieties of hard cider along with a new addition of two local mead makers Bee & Bramble & Fox Hill Meadery! To complement your cider we have added a new Chef’s Station where apples and hard cider will be the featured ingredients for small plates. And back again by popular demand is the WNC Cheese Trail offering samples from local creameries.
On the music front, we have opted to switch it up, instead of the large stage with one band the festival will feature local bands and buskers from the Asheville area sprinkled throughout the festival, unplugged, allowing attendees to enjoy live music as they are in line for a sample of cider or mead! You will enjoy music by Goldie & The Screamers, Shifty Drifters (Abby the Spoon Lady), and many more great bands.
True to its roots, this year’s event will also feature something for the home cider makers. A Home Cider Making Booth sponsored by Asheville Brewers Supply will offer cider making kits, educational demonstrations, and a casual area for home cider makers to share their cider as well as lessons they have learned.
Staying true to being a family-friendly event, this year will offer an Interactive Children’s Area focused on green living. This area will have hands on fun educational activities and demo’s for both the children and adults to learn.
Providing more opportunities to learn about hard cider, all attendees will receive a take home Tasting & Event Guide to highlight differences in cider, ingredients, and origins and to take notes about the ciders sampled. Don’t miss out, purchase tickets early, the event is expected to sell out. This event is RAIN OR SHINE.
